Sandy Rigsbee | Care Manager

Sandy Rigsbee has over 35 years of experience as a social worker in a variety of areas with the common theme being that of advocacy.

Sandy began her career in social work at the Methodist Home for Children in Raleigh, NC and later moved to Northern Virginia, where she worked for Manassas City Department of Social Services as a Child and Adult Protective Services Investigator. In 1987, Sandy worked at Prince William Hospital as a social worker/discharge planner and case manager in Oncology, Critical Care and the Emergency Room. In 1997, she became manager of the Patient Relations Department, allowing her the opportunity to ensure that patients and families had someone they could turn to when they had questions or needed help navigating the sometimes confusing world of healthcare.

At Elder Care Consultants, Sandy utilizes her advocacy and social work experience to ensure that the client’s needs are being provided with care and compassion. She enjoys getting to know our clients as she works with them and their families in developing a plan of care that ensures their dignity and quality of life is preserved.

Sandy has facilitated a weekly Cancer Support Group for 20 years at Prince William Hospice and served on local Cancer Society Boards and on Prince William Hospital Ethics Committee. Sandy says that a day without humor is a BAD day!
