Jill Thurber brings more than 20 years of experience in the care management and rehabilitation field to Elder Care Consultants. Her area of expertise is rehabilitation for clients with neurological diagnoses, including stroke, Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory impairment, and Parkinson’s as well as traumatic injuries.
Her experience and education also include orthopedic and cardiac rehabilitation. Jill has significant experience maximizing insurance benefits, including long term care insurance benefits.
Jill’s focus is on strategic management for all stages of care. Her experience working in rehab settings allows her to work closely with the acute care providers, rehabilitation providers and sub-acute providers of care to advocate for her clients.
Jill also has an interest in long-term recovery for traumatic injury patients. She is versed in treatment approaches that demonstrate repair and regeneration of the nervous system.
Jill has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Rehabilitation Services from Florida State University. She has worked in an inpatient physical therapy unit, served as the director of case management for a national inpatient acute rehabilitation provider, as program director of an acute inpatient rehabilitation program and as director of case management for a national rehabilitation consulting company.
Jill is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). She also holds National Board Certifications as a Certified Care Manager and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
